On the Estimates (1600)) 89-50 were approved, certain increases in advance of the general scheme of increases were made, and it was stated that the salaries affected will be removed from the operation of any general scheme. Subsequently, when the general scheme was approved involving a rise of 35 per cent all round, it was still adhered to, cutting out the Schoolmasters; but I think it would be only reasonable to let them get a 35 per cent advance.
